Some Azure Blue Damselflies just starting to emerge. This one eager to feed on an aphid.

  2. Thanks Catse. We have some in the UK whose actual name is – Banded Demoiselles.I hope to get some pictures of them soon, they are my favourites and even more beautiful.

  3. there are some past years my (very small) pond was full of Blue Damselfliesoh thanks I have seen the diffrence with my demoiselles – Calopteryx virgo -and Banded Demoiselles: a small orange strip on the base and a white spot on the wings ( for the male )take photos of them 😀

  4. I see that Calopteryx virgo is called the Beautiful Demoiselle but not native to UK so I will have to make do with the Quite Beautiful Banded Demoiselle !
